Fondazione F. Turati in Zagarolo is a non-profit, private rehabilitation center and extended care facility offering inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, as well as skilled nursing, to adult neurological and orthopedic patients. It is located in the region of Lazio, the capital of which is Rome. Other cities of note in Lazio include Viterbo, Tivoli, and Cerveteri, and all are within 1-2 hour’s drive of the clinic. In addition to the facility in Zagarolo, the Fondazione operates rehabilitation facilities in Gavinana, near Pistoia, and in Vieste, a town in the southern region of Puglia.
Fondazione Turati was founded in 1966 and is one the oldest rehabilitation organizations in Italy. The facility in Zagarolo was opened in 2012 and includes 40 rehabilitation beds and 60 extended care beds. There is also a an outpatient rehabilitation service. The center’s medical director is a physiatrist. Orthopedists, cardiologists, and other specialists provide services in regularly scheduled clinics. The Fondazione is accredited to provide rehabilitation services and operates under contract with the Italian Ministry of Health.
